  • Please park only where assigned. Classes rotate parking between the road and the driveway.

  • Lessons start promptly. Please have your child ready to enter the pool at their class time.

HOW MUCH DO LESSONS COST?

The cost for Kicking with Katie swim lessons is:

  • $385 per child, per session

  • Each lesson is 45 minutes

  • Classes run for one week, at the same time each day for that week

Additional details:

  • Payment is required at the time of registration.

  • Spots cannot be held without payment.

  • Refunds are only available for cancellations made at least 2 weeks before your session begins.

  • No discounts or prorated amounts are given for missed classes, travel, illness, or partial attendance.

  • There are no discounts for additional siblings; each child must be registered individually.

WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM MY CHILD?

Lessons are small-group and require participation:

  • Your child must be willing to put their face in the water.

  • Your child will need to enter the water when it is their turn.

  • Swimmers sit on the pool ledge while waiting for their turn and must stay seated.

These expectations are for safety and for building strong swim skills.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM THE BEGINNER CLASS?

The goal of the beginner class is for your child to swim safely to the pool edge.

Most children will be able to swim 5–10 feet by the end of the course (many do more).
Please keep expectations realistic. If your child cries the first 3 days — that is normal. Consistency works, and they will learn to swim. Some children need more than one session.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CHILD IS READY FOR LESSONS?

Children must:

  • Be 2 years old

  • Be able to walk unassisted

  • Follow simple directions

  • Remain seated on the pool edge during their turn

Most children under age 2 lack the coordination needed for this program.
If your child is under 2, Katie recommends an infant survival course (Katie does not teach this).

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

Bring:

  • A towel

  • Your child already in swim clothes

Do not bring:

  • Goggles (not allowed in lessons)

  • Puddle jumpers or any flotation devices

  • Reusable swim diapers

If your child is not potty trained, disposable swim diapers are required.

MAY I STAY AND WATCH MY CHILD?

Yes — parents may stand outside the gate, where the pool is in full view.
Lessons take place on the opposite side of the pool, so visibility may vary.

  • You may enter the pool area during the last 10 minutes to watch their progress.

  • Friday includes additional viewing time and a review of skills to practice.

DOES MY CHILD HAVE TO PUT HIS/HER FACE IN THE WATER?

Yes. Children cannot learn to swim correctly without submerging their faces.
Your child's face will go under water during lessons.

WILL MY CHILD BE REWARDED?

Katie offers a Ring Pop at the end of lessons as positive reinforcement.

If you prefer your child not receive this, please let Katie know.

Ring Pops are earned through effort and following directions. Children are warned several times before losing the privilege. This reward system motivates swimmers and encourages goal-reaching.

DO I GET IN THE WATER WITH MY CHILD?

No. Parents do not get into the pool.

CAN MY OTHER CHILDREN ATTEND THE LESSON?

Siblings may come but may not swim.
The pool is open for lessons only during class times.

IS THE POOL HEATED AND ENCLOSED?

Yes, the pool is heated and will remain heated as long as necessary.  A dome enclosure is used during the cooler months.  This varies by year but is typically from November - early May.
