REFUND POLICY

Refunds are available only for cancellations made at least 2 weeks prior to the start of your session.

Within 2 weeks of your scheduled start date, all registrations become non-refundable, and no credits or transfers will be issued.

Refunds cannot be given for:

  • Illness

  • Vacations or travel

  • Schedule conflicts

  • Missed or partially attended classes

  • Behavioral issues or unwillingness to participate

If your child needs additional time to meet swim goals, you are welcome to register for a future session, but no refunds or prorated credits are available inside the 2-week window.

LATE ARRIVAL POLICY

Lessons begin promptly at the scheduled time.
Because classes are structured and run back-to-back, late arrivals affect the entire group.

  • If a child arrives late, the lesson will still end at the regular time. Extra time cannot be added or made up.

  • Late arrivals may miss critical warm-up or instruction time.

  • Repeated late arrivals may impact your child’s progress and may disrupt the group’s learning environment.

Please plan to arrive a few minutes early so your child is ready to enter the pool right at start time.

SPECIAL NEEDS POLICY

Kicking with Katie welcomes swimmers of all abilities.
To maintain safety and effectiveness in small-group lessons, parents must disclose medical, developmental, behavioral, or sensory needs at registration.

All swimmers must be able to:

  • Follow simple instructions

  • Remain seated on the pool edge during their turn

  • Participate safely in a group environment

  • Enter the water when instructed

Refunds are not provided if a child cannot meet the safety or participation requirements.
Failure to disclose needs may result in removal from class if safety becomes a concern.

SWIM DIAPER AND ACCIDENT POLICY

All children who are not fully potty trained must wear a disposable swim diaper to every lesson. Reusable swim diapers are not allowed.

If a child has an accident in the pool without a swim diaper:

  • The child will be removed from the lesson immediately.

  • They may not return to class until they are wearing a proper disposable swim diaper.

If a second accident occurs because a swim diaper was not used, or if a parent repeatedly fails to follow this requirement, the swimmer’s spot will be forfeited.
No refunds or make-up classes will be provided.

This policy is necessary to maintain safety and sanitation for all swimmers and to prevent pool closures.

WEATHER POLICY

The safety of all swimmers is Katie’s top priority. Weather-related decisions are made using the best available forecasts and models, along with real-time conditions.

Because many families travel from longer distances, classes may be canceled in advance if weather conditions are likely to become unsafe — even if the weather has not yet arrived at the lesson time.

If a class is canceled due to weather or safety concerns:

  • Katie will offer two make-up class options.

  • You may choose either option.

  • If you cannot attend one of the provided times, the class is forfeited.

Make-ups are offered only for weather-related cancellations.

Decisions will always be made with the best estimate for swimmer safety in mind.

MAKE-UP POLICY  (Weather Cancellations)

If a class is canceled due to weather or safety, Katie will offer two make-up class options.

  • You may choose either of the two offered times.

  • If you cannot attend one of the provided options, the class is forfeited.

  • Make-ups are only provided for weather-related cancellations.

  • No make-ups are given for illness, travel, or personal conflicts.

  • Makeups are typically offered the weekend following your lesson.

This keeps the schedule running smoothly while still giving families an opportunity to complete weather-canceled lessons.

PHYSICAL ABUSE & SAFETY POLICY

Kicking with Katie is committed to maintaining a safe and positive environment for all swimmers. Any form of physical aggression — including hitting, kicking, biting, forceful grabbing, or unsafe behavior toward instructors or other children — will not be tolerated.

For safety reasons, children must remain in the water during their turn and may not exit the pool without permission.
A child who climbs out of the pool, attempts to run, or refuses to stay in the water creates an unsafe environment for themselves and others.

If physical aggression or unsafe exiting occurs:

  1. The swimmer will be removed from the lesson immediately.

  2. Parents will be notified of the incident.

  3. The swimmer’s spot may be forfeited for the remainder of the session.

If a spot is forfeited due to unsafe behavior or exiting the water without permission, no refunds or make-up classes will be provided.

This policy ensures the safety of every swimmer and allows Katie to maintain an effective and controlled learning environment.
