COVID-19 Update
WILL KATIE WEAR A MASK DURING SWIM LESSONS?
No. I don’t think it’s possible for me to use a mask while in the pool. I spend time teaching kids to hold their breath, put their face in the water, and swim breathing techniques. The kids need to see my face and mouth in order to mimic skills.
I would like to follow the 10 person maximum guidelines. If you are worried that your child will be upset if you are not close by, please consider trying it on Monday. Rarely do I have a student that doesn’t quickly adjust to being at swim lessons without mom in sight. That being said, you are welcome to watch from a safe distance (the grassy area). Please no siblings at the lessons if possible in order to limit the gathering number to under 10.
WHAT IF I WANT TO WATCH THE LESSON?
ARE SWIM LESSONS SAFE?
While I cannot guarantee a virus free environment, please know that being outside in the sunshine, in a saltwater pool does not provide an ideal place for the virus. The CDC has put out a statement regarding pools. “Proper operation and maintenance of these facilities should inactivate the virus in the water. There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs.”
WILL I NEED TO SIGN A WAIVER?
Waivers will be required for your child to swim. Waivers will be signed during registration. You are required to notify Katie in the event of Covid exposure or Covid related symptoms.
